Our dear friend and former third owner of the Driftwood Resort, passed away on June 1, 2022 at 80. Karl was known to many as a kind, gentle and giving man. Stories were told at his memorial of how he helped others live better lives through his generosity to them and charities he was involved in. He is missed by many. I am honored to have known him and cherish the times he spent mentoring me to make sure I’m successful with the resort. From is memorial services: “God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come to me.” With tearful eyes we watch you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
